Synopsis
On their way for an undersea play-date with Coral and the Mer-Pups, the PAW Patrol, already suited up in their Aqua Pup gear, ride the Whale Patroller to Puplantis. After Skye expresses her excitement to see her cousin again, Ryder gives Coral a call to let them know they are on their way, but learns that she, Mama Mer-Pup, and her baby are trapped in Puplantis' library by a large fishing net. Fortunately, with the PAW Patrol on their way, Ryder promises to take care of their situation.
Once they arrive to Puplantis, the team swims out to the library while Robo-Dog stays behind, tightening the whale tail of the Whale Patroller before meeting some new Mer-Pup friends and performing tricks with them. However, in doing so, the Whale Patroller is left unattended, allowing Moby and McSquidly to wander aboard. Curious to see if it has a treat dispenser, Moby activates several gizmos, locking the Whale Patroller's hatches and igniting its engine.
Meanwhile, at the library, Marshall uses his hydro-launcher to cut a piece of the fishing net off near the window and Rubble uses his claw arm to remove it, allowing Coral and the Mer-Pups to escape from the library. Using their pup pack tools together, both lift and remove the net from the top of the library, tossing it aside, and are thanked by a singing group of Mer-Pups. However, just as Moby activates another gizmo on the Whale Patroller, increasing its speed, he hears the Mer-Pups harmonizing and commandeers the Patroller, using it to interrupt their singing. With the Mer-Pups now upset, Moby allows McSquidly to drive so he can get a better look at their frowny faces. Unfortunately, due to the stickiness of his tentacles, McSquidly is unable to properly steer and crashes into the tops of several buildings. Moby tries to regain control, but is unable to remove McSquidly from the wheel, causing even more damage to Puplantis.
With the city and the Whale Patroller in danger, Ryder summons the PAW Patrol to an empty clam, due to their ride being stolen, and uses Robo-Dog as a projector to brief the pups on their mission, assigning Skye to use her Manta drone to search for the Whale Patroller and Coral to help find clues of the Whale Patroller's whereabouts. However, without having access to their vehicles, they are forced to swim until a couple of underwater creatures swim past them, giving Coral the idea to sing a request for help. After the creatures accept her request, she sings again for more help, getting each of the pups an underwater buddy to ride. With Robo-Dog functioning as Ryder's ride, the team deploys and set off to find the Whale Patroller.
Further out from Puplantis, the team search for the Whale Patroller with Skye using her Manta drone, finding a destructive path of seaweed. They follow the damaged trail as Moby, still struggling to remove McSquidly's tentacles from the steering wheel, accidentally activates another one of the Patroller's gizmos, which alerts him of the PAW Patrol approaching. He tries to get away from them, but once again, due to McSquidly's sticky tentacles, he drives poorly, heading towards a bunch of rocks. The pups attempt to redirect Moby away, but he refuses to follow along and puts the Whale Patroller at full speed where it temporarily gets wedged between two large rocks, allowing the PAW Patrol to catch up, and pulls itself free.
To get more power to slow the Whale Patroller, Coral sings to their underwater rides, asking them to call to their buddies for additional help, in which they do. Now, with a whole army of underwater creatures helping them, on Coral's command, everyone swims up ahead of the Whale Patroller and manage to slow it down. Moby, now worried, tries to give the Patroller more speed, but activates its treat dispenser instead, distracting him long enough for Rocky to pull the back hatch open with his vacuum and Chase to use his launcher to turn off the Whale Patroller's engine. Once their sub stops moving, Rubble hitches a ride on Robo-Dog and uses his claw arm to pull the front hatch open, swimming inside. Upon entering, he finds Moby inside under a pile of pups treats with McSquidly.
As the pups pass a bubble to each other with the Mer-Pups and their underwater buddies, Coral thanks Ryder for stopping Moby and for saving their play-date. Ryder adds a thanks for rescuing their ride and shows an electronic lock he made to secure the Whale Patroller when they are not using it. After he mentions that they can call on their new underwater friends for help if they are ever in a similar situation, the team shares a laugh.
