Synopsis
Riding on the main highway, Ryder takes the pups on a surprise trip in the PAW Patroller where they discover a truck stop and meet Al and his big truck for the very first time. After reuniting with Ryder and introducing himself to the other pups, Al bids the group farewell and drives off to the train station where he loads girders needed to repair Adventure Bay's dam onto Mr. Hudson's train. As a storm approaches, Mayor Goodway expresses her concern for the leaky dam and hitches a ride with Mr. Hudson up the mountain to supervise the repair of the dam.
Once the last girder is loaded on the train by Al, Mr. Hudson sets off for the dam. However, as he makes a sharp turn, a missing rail in the tracks causes the train to derail and crash with some of the supplies spilling out. Al, back on the highway, notices the situation from afar and calls Ryder for help.
After receiving Al's call, Ryder summons the PAW Patrol to the Big Truck HQ where they are suited up in their brand new Big Truck gear and briefed on their first Big Truck Pups mission. With the pups now equipped with brand new big trucks, Ryder assigns Rubble to use his big truck's crane to pick up and load the spilled supplies and Rocky to use his truck to repair the locomotive. Before they wrap up the briefing, Al, heading to the crash site, calls in to lend his assistance and give the pups trucking tips. With that, Rubble and Rocky deploy into their respective big trucks and set off with Ryder to the derailed train.
Already at the crash site, Al uses his truck's big claw to load some of the spilled supplies onto the back of his truck as the PAW Patrol arrive. Rubble assists him by using his his crane to lift the rest of the supplies into the bin in his truck's trailer and onto the train once Al sets it back on the tracks. However, as Ryder loads the last few bags of cement and sand into the PAW Patroller, Rocky runs a system check on the train's engine, stating the engine needs a lot of work before it can run again. With the storm approaching, the team settle on using their trucks as a convoy with Al using his truck as a locomotive to pull it from the front, Rubble and Rocky riding alongside the train cars, and the PAW Patroller pushing the last train car from behind, resuming their trip to the dam. However, on their way there, Rubble and Rocky are forced to abandon the sidelines and ride behind the PAW Patroller to cross a bridge.
Just as the group nears the dam, a thick fog rolls in, obscuring Al's sight of a beaver resting on the tracks. To avoid crashing into it, he brakes, but loses the train load in the process. Fortunately, with a power push from the PAW Patrol, the load is reattached to the back of Al's truck, and the group's trip continues. To avoid any other possible crashes, the team occasionally sound their horns to alert anyone who may be around of their presence.
Once the team arrives at the dam, Al quickly gets to work and uses his giant grabber claw to unload all the girders. While the pups begin to unload the other materials, Mayor Goodway calls the fix-it crew to get them started, only to learn that the storm caused a landslide on the other side of the mountain, blocking them off. Upon learning this news, the storm finally approaches the dam with heavy rainfall, causing the leak in the dam to worsen. With the fix-it crew unable to arrive, Ryder calls Skye, Marshall, Chase and Zuma for additional help to patch the leak themselves.
Once the rest of the team arrives, on Ryder's command, both Rubble and Marshall deploy their big trucks to create super, sticky concrete as Skye uses her jet and grabber claw to frame the girders around the leak with Rocky screwing them into place. Once the frame is secure, Marshall sprays the concrete over the leak, allowing Al, with Rocky and Skye's assistance, to place heavy blocks into the frame, patching the leak. However, just as the group celebrates, another crack in the dam forms. To find and assess the cause, Ryder calls on Zuma to investigate the top of the dam.
After deploying his truck, Zuma spots a bunch of fallen trees blown down by the storm in the water causing serious damage to the dam. As he uses his hook to pull and load the trees onto his truck, he hears and spots a momma duck who has built her nest in the wall of the dam. Before they resume repairs, on Ryder's command, Chase uses his drone's claw arm to airlift the momma duck's nest out of harm's way, placing it safely on the ground near the team. However, just as the ducks are safe, the new leak bursts through the wall of the dam, blowing out a big chunk of concrete and washing Mayor Goodway away into a river. Al sets out to retrieve the chunk as the pups, minus Chase, set up a new frame. Upon returning with the chunk of concrete, Al uses his truck's big claw to keep the chunk in place, using all his truck's horsepower to push it against the strong force of the water pressure until Marshall seals it in place with his concrete sprayer. Meanwhile, Chase, riding after the Mayor, uses his winch to pull her out of the river and safely onto the side of the road while Rubble uses his shovel to fill in a ditch with large rocks, redirecting the floodwater from the leak away from Adventure Bay.
With the storm over and the dam secured, Mayor Goodway thanks Ryder, the Big Truck Pups, and Al for saving the day. Before he sets off, Ryder gives Al his own pup tag as the pups welcome him as an official member of the PAW Patrol. Just as the team prepares to leave, Al finds the momma duck and her baby in the passenger seat of his truck and splits off from the group to drop the ducks off at a nice, quiet pond down the road, honking a farewell to the PAW Patrol.
