Coral is the first Mer-pup member of the PAW Patrol. She is also the long-lost cousin of Skye. She debuted in the Season 9 episode, "Aqua Pups: Pups Save a Floating Castle". Her primary purpose is to help the Mer-pups and protect Puplantis.
Bio
Coral is a cockapoo, former land-pup, and Skye's long-lost cousin. One mer-moon-lit evening, Coral heard a lullaby when she was a baby land-pup and swam out to sea to sing along. She then nudged noses with a Mer-pup, which turned her into one. She had so much fun in their underwater world that she stayed with them (as explained in "Aqua Pups: Pups Save a Floating Castle").
She can become a land-pup by bumping paws with one (as seen in "Aqua Pups: Pups Save a Floating Castle") or by changing into her Aqua Pups outfit in the Whale Patroller (as seen in "Aqua Pups: Pups Save a Merdinger") to help the PAW Patrol on missions.
Nick.com Description
Coral is a plucky little Mer-pup who happens to be Skye’s long-lost cousin! Outgoing, brave and totally clever, Coral wasn’t always a Mer-pup, but a cockapoo with four legs! One Mer-Moon-lit evening, Coral swam into the ocean and touched noses with a Mer-pup – and then she turned into one herself! Coral loves being a Mer-pup, and she especially loves being with the other Mer-pups, so she decided to stay underwater. Coral serves as the translator for the Mer-pups when they want to communicate with the rest of the PAW Patrol gang. When Skye paw bumps with Coral, she can change back to her original four-legged form. This allows her to join the PAW Patrol pups on land to help on missions and return home to Puplantis when the job is done!
Personality
Coral is a plucky little Mer-pup who is outgoing, brave, and clever. She loves not only being a Mer-pup herself, but being with the other Mer-pups of Puplantis. She has a friendly personality and gets along well with other pups. If there is trouble in Puplantis, she will do anything to help.
She likes to sing and dance with the other Mer-pups and play games with the pups in Adventure Bay. Having discovered that they are long-lost cousins, she enjoys being around Skye the most.
Appearance
Coral has light pink fur and a cream-colored muzzle, chest, and paws. She has aquamarine blue streaks in the small, curly tuft of fluff on her head, as well as on her ears and tail. She wears purple stars adorned with small clusters of pearls over her shaggy ears and a blue pearl necklace with a purple shell charm. She has a mix of purple, light blue eyes and blueish-purple eyeshadow over her eyelids.
As a Mer-pup, only her lower body changes with her having a pink, purple and blue fish tail with light pink streaks and a purple fish scale pattern.
She wears a black and purple diving suit with glowing light blue highlights when summoned for an Aqua Pups mission. With it, she wears a matching colored helmet with headlights and a top centerpiece resembling a seahorse's coronet. Unlike the rest of the Aqua Pups, Coral's helmet does not have the PAW Patrol's symbol in the center.
Attires
Here is a list of Coral's attires throughout the series:
Pup Tag
Coral's Pup Tag is purple with a light blue shell on it. It has a silver border around it. When in use, it can contact Ryder and the pups.
The shell charm on her necklace also serves as a Pup Tag.
Pup Pack
Her Pup Pack contains a bubble launcher that can shoot regular bubbles and sticky bubbles.
Vehicle
Coral drives a silver sub in the shape of a seahorse. It has a silver head with neon purple highlights that is equipped with a headlight and a bubble launcher. The body is also silver with neon purple highlights and surrounds the cockpit where Coral drives. The sides of it feature a sticker of Coral's Pup Tag symbol and her vehicle's number, 24, in neon white. The front of the body has another headlight and a gray version of the PAW Patrol's logo in the center while the back contains two gray fenders and a pair of black tires with a purple outer lip and wheel discs, teal spokes, and a teal center cap, which is connected by the vehicle's teal, neon purple-highlighted front suspension. Below the cockpit, there is a hatch that stores the engine and a long, teal tail that slightly curls up at the end.
The sub is also able to transform into a motorcycle for land travel with the head extending and rotating backwards to the front of the vehicle, becoming its front fairing on top of the front wheel, connected by the vehicle's front suspensions, while the tail separates into two rear suspensions, connecting onto the back wheel.
Unlike its sub form, the head's bubble launcher becomes unusable. This is likely due to the fact that Coral can use the bubble launcher equipped in her Pup Pack.
Skills and Abilities
Coral can understand and translate any Mer-pup, communicate to other sea creatures by singing, and is an excellent explorer of the ocean.
