Dino Rescue: Pups Save a T-Rex Tyke

"Dino Rescue: Pups Save a T-Rex Tyke" is the first segment of the 15th episode in Season 9 of PAW Patrol.

Summary

When a baby T-Rex gets lost, Ryder and the pups go on a daring mission to the Dino Wilds to help find him.

Synopsis

At the Lookout, the pups are trying out different tricks with each other with Rubble attempting a flip, but not sticking the landing while Marshall tries to balance and spin a ball on the tip of his nose, dropping it after being tickled by a butterfly. Meanwhile in the Dino Wilds, Rex and Taylor are looking after an injured baby Triceratops, Brachiosaurus, and Tyrannosaurus Rex. The baby T-Rex named Timmy, has a fractured foot, but Taylor is happy to announce that it is mostly healed, and soon, he will be able to return home with his dad. After Rex states that the T-Rex is one of the smartest dinosaurs, Taylor gets the idea to train and tame Timmy and brings him out of his corral to do so despite Rex’s worries.

While the pups are still experimenting with different tricks, Taylor teaches Timmy how to sit and roll over with Rex's dino communication skills. However, the baby Brachiosaurus knocks over its bowl and throws a temper tantrum, causing the baby Triceratops to do the same which scares Timmy away into the jungle. Dr. Tammy Turbot comes out to see what the commotion is, and after being informed by Taylor of the situation, she calls the PAW Patrol.

After receiving the call from Tammy, Ryder summons the PAW Patrol to the Dino Patroller where they ride off to the Dino Wilds. Once there, the PAW Patrol enter the Dino Tower along with Rex where they are suited up in their Dino Rescue gear and briefed on the situation with Timmy. Ryder assigns Skye to use her jet and visor to search for Timmy from the air, Chase to use his Dino vehicle to search from the ground, and Rex to use his Dino communication skills to guide Timmy to safety. Taylor, feeling guilty about the whole situation, calls and asks to lend her assistance with searching as well, which Ryder accepts. With that the team deploys into their respective vehicles and sets off to find Timmy.

As the team searches, Rex thinks Timmy is scared and most likely hid underneath some tall plants, in which Taylor suggests they search a grove near a river that Skye happens to be closest to. Skye spots Timmy in the grove, but Rex worries about Timmy’s safety as he is near a group of giant snapping plants. After Rex quietly tells Timmy to not move, Timmy roars in response, which awakens the giant snapping plants. Ryder formulates a plan to distract the plants long enough for the team to retrieve Timmy by loading Chase's launcher with Dino treats, but a snapping plant looms in towards Timmy and results in Taylor running in to save him, only to get picked up by the plant instead.

Chase attempts to launch his Dino treats at the plant holding Taylor hostage, but the other snapping plants nearby gobble them up instead while Rex quickly and carefully maneuvers his way through them, saving Timmy from being eaten at the last second. With the other plants distracted, Chase is finally able to aim treats at the one holding Taylor, which tosses her to the mouth of another plant, but Skye rescues her just in time with her harness. Just as the team regroups, Timmy's dad approaches, suspecting the PAW Patrol and Taylor to be threats to his son. Using his Dino communication skills again, Rex tries to explain that they were only saving Timmy, but the T-Rex cannot hear him over the loud snapping from the giant plants, which surround and trap him. Skye tries to use her hook to pull the giant plant away, but her vehicle is not powerful enough. Remembering the butterfly that tickled Marshall from earlier, Ryder suggests they try tickling the plant instead. Using his Dino claw, Rex tickles the stems of the giant snapping plant, distracting it and allowing Timmy's dad to escape and reunite with his son.

Timmy's dad lets out a mighty roar, which Rex translates to as "Thanks!", and the PAW Patrol ride off with a laugh as Timmy follows his dad, stopping for a moment to wave goodbye to them with his tail.
