Not to be confused with "PAW Patrol on the Roll!", a book based on the same series, and "PAW Patrol on a Roll", a song.
PAW Patrol: On a Roll! is a console puzzle-platform game based on the children's television series PAW Patrol, released on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 23, 2018 in the US. It released globally on October 26, 2018 [5].
There were also plans for the game to be released for the Nintendo 3DS, but due to transfer issues with the system, the version for it had been postponed until further notice. It did not appear to be advertised on official trailers for the game because of this reason.[6] Although not officially confirmed, this version was likely cancelled due to Nintendo dropping support for the 3DS.
It has also been stated by Outright Games that each territory will have their own character voices, including Germany's new cast. The only exception to this rule is the US who will have a voice over artist, presumably the Canadian voice actors.[7]
It is developed by Outright Games, who announced the game in February 2018,[8] and Torus Games Pty.[9]
Description
PAW Patrol follows the adventures of a pack of heroic rescue pups: Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Skye, Rocky, Zuma, Everest and Tracker, who are led by a tech-savvy boy named Ryder. Together they work hard to protect the Adventure Bay community believing no job is too big, no pup is too small! The series features a curriculum that focuses on citizenship, social skills and problem-solving.
In Outright Games’ PAW Patrol: On a Roll, players join Ryder and all eight PAW Patrol Pups for 16 exciting rescue missions. Help each pup use their unique abilities to rescue friends and keep their community safe. Trivia
- The PC and Switch version game's box art has the PAW Patrol logo on the top, while the other versions has it to the side.
- The game has both locked and full camera view levels.
- The game uses the fourth wall physics, like on the Nick Jr. shows, where they talk to the user.
- Unlike in the show, 8 of the pups are called into the Lookout.
- Despite Tracker being a playable character, he isn't on the boxart.
- This is the first PAW Patrol game to be released on console systems and would be followed by PAW Patrol Mighty Pups: Save Adventure Bay!.
- This is the only console game to be animated by Torus Games and Unity.
