Synopsis
At Katie's Pet Parlor, Rubble, Chase, and Marshall are all taking a relaxing bubble bath until Mayor Humdinger arrives, earlier than Katie expected, with the Kitten Catastrophe Crew for their grooming appointment. As soon as Humdinger leaves, the Kitten Catastrophe Crew wreck havoc inside the parlor. The pups abandon their baths to help lead the kitties to the grooming table and clean up their mess just before Humdinger returns to retrieve his key that Cat Rocky stole. However, before he leaves again, Katie declares that Humdinger's kitties are no longer welcome inside her parlor due to their mischievous behavior. After Humdinger complains about losing his free time, Katie offers to bring her supplies to Foggy Bottom later and groom the kitties at his place instead, which Humdinger agrees and promises to get them on their best behavior.
Back at Mayor Humdinger's lair, after Humdinger tells the Kitten Catastrophe Crew to be on their best behavior and warns them to not press a red button that activates his lair's new defense system, which will make the place impossible to get in or out of, Katie arrives with Cali and her supplies. Unfortunately, right after Humdinger leaves Katie and the kitties alone, the kitties already create mischief with Katie's supplies, startling Cali who accidentally backs into the red button, activating the defense system that locks them all inside. With no way to disable the system or escape, Katie calls Ryder for help.
At the Lookout, as the pups observe the balloons Rubble, Chase, and Marshall received from Katie earlier, Ryder receives and answers Katie's call. He learns of the situation she is in just before the computer of the defense system cuts off their communication and summons the PAW Patrol to the Lookout where they are suited up in their standard gear and briefed on their mission. After the mission briefing, Ryder assigns Rocky to use his tools to turn off the laser beams protecting the lair and Skye to use her hook to airlift Rocky around the defense system's lasers. With that, the team deploys with Rocky and Skye sliding down into their respective vehicles and set off with Ryder to Foggy Bottom.
Just before the PAW Patrol arrive, the computer warns that it will go into extreme safe-room mode in less than twelve minutes, which will lower the lair deep underground to keep it extremely safe. Ryder attempts to use his Pup Pad to contact Katie, but the defense system has blocked all communication inside the lair. Skye, on Ryder's command, uses her hook to air lift Rocky, who uses his Pup Pack's mirror to reflect the defense system's lasers into itself and shorts out the system. Once the lasers are gone, Rocky tries to use his truck to lift the metal door open, but it does not budge. The computer explains that the door can only be opened if the camera inside Mayor Humdinger's lair recognizes his face specifically. With Humdinger away and no way to relay the new information to Katie, Ryder calls on Rubble for backup and has him drill a hole in the roof of Humdinger's lair for Katie and the others to escape out of. However, as Rubble drills the hole, the computer senses the vibrations of his drill and warns that the countdown to the extreme safe-room mode will go faster should they continue their attempted break-in. Fortunately, the hole Rubble started to drill is big enough for Ryder to see and communicate with Katie.
Since it is now too risky to continue making the hole in the roof bigger, Ryder explains to Katie that in order to shut the defense system down, they will have to fool it by having her make herself look like Mayor Humdinger. After asking the Kitten Catastrophe Crew to find a top hat, Katie comes up with an idea and uses the rest of Mayor Humdinger's top hats to create a "hat ladder" for the kitties to climb up to the hole. Meanwhile, back in Adventure Bay, Mayor Humdinger wraps up his free time with a spaghetti takeout from Mr. Porter's and makes his way back to Foggy Bottom.
Once the Kitten Catastrophe Crew escape, Katie acts like Mayor Humdinger in an attempt to fool the defense system, but its scanners recognize that she is not him and resumes its countdown. Realizing she needs a mustache, Katie requests Ryder for a fake one, in which he asks for Rocky's help in creating one. After Mayor Humdinger returns, Rocky uses his Pup Pack's fork to borrow some of his spaghetti and uses it to create a fake mustache, which Skye airlifts to Katie. Unfortunately, the computer still does not recognize her as Humdinger, so, using her grooming skills, Katie makes the fake mustache look much more similar to Humdinger's, finally fooling the computer. It opens the security door, allowing Katie and Cali to escape just before the safe-room mode activates, sinking Humdinger's lair deep underground.
After Katie thanks the PAW Patrol for the rescue, Mayor Humdinger sulks over temporarily losing his lair, but is still happy to have his kitties safe and his spaghetti lunch, which Cat Zuma eats the rest of.
