Synopsis
While exploring a cave, Jake and Everest encounter a family of bats, admiring them before heading off in anticipation of Pizza and Pup Treats Night back at Jake's cabin. Meanwhile, Mayor Goodway's Uncle Otis discovers an old gold-mining site and decides to investigate. At the Lookout, the pups are playing when Ryder tells them it's time to clean up, and instructs them to turn it into a game. Otis discovers that a shiny object he'd been pursuing is in fact a bottle cap, and accidentally causes a rockslide.
Otis rushes to give a warning, which allows Jake and Everest to escape the cave in company with the baby bat. Unfortunately, the cave entrance is then blocked by boulders, trapping the bat's parents. Jake calls up Ryder for help, and Marshall ends up riding a wagon full of picked up toys into the elevator. Ryder debriefs the pups, and Rubble is chosen to team up with Everest and clear the rocks with their vehicles.
The pups succeed in freeing the bat parents, and the whole family then flies off towards Adventure Bay. Unfortunately, they prove something of a nuisance, disturbing Cap'n Turbot and Wally aboard the Flounder, Ms. Marjorie and Maynard at their house, and Mayor Goodway when they infest her purse. The mayor calls Ryder to help with the situation, not noticing as the bats make their way into Mr. Porter's truck. Ryder, meanwhile, calls on Rocky to help put together a new home for the bats to replace the now rock-filled cave.
Alex and Mr. Porter discover their uninvited passengers on the way up to Jake's cabin, while Uncle Otis goes to check for the possibility of another rockslide. An old water wheel from the mining site ends up rolling straight towards Mr. Porter's van but is stopped by Everest before it can damage the vehicle or hurt the bats. Rocky then sets up the bats' new temporary home, while the pup treats and pizza Mr. Porter was bringing to Jake's cabin attract a bat, a bird that's been hanging around the old mining site, and Uncle Otis.
