"Pups Save a Giant Plant" is the first segment of the 24th episode in Season 3 of PAW Patrol.

Summary

Mayor Goodway's gesture of goodwill gift grows wildly out of control when it's planted in the wrong place. Time for a transplant!

Synopsis

It started with the PAW Patrol driving the PAW Patroller into the jungle to visit Carlos and Tracker, along with Mayor Goodway and Chickaletta. Mayor Goodway is going to present a gift to say "hello." And, the gift was a green plant named Buddy, she raised him from a seedling in their garden.

As they arrived, they'd parked near a swamp where Carlos and Tracker were waiting. They all greeted each other and Mayor Goodway presented Buddy to Carlos. Carlos said the jungle has lots of super rich soil and gets lots rain and sunlight for the plants to grow healthy. Mayor Goodway planted Buddy near the swamp with some help from Rubble, and declare Buddy to be a symbol of friendship on going. Then, Buddy began to grow bigger.

Tracker heard some animals moving in the jungle, he could hear baby snakes hissing. Everyone left to see them, but Mayor Goodway, Chickaletta, and Marshall wanna stay behind. As everyone left, Buddy grew more and more bigger, and lifted Mayor Goodway and Chickaletta. As Marshall saw what happened, he tried to help her down, but he couldn't.

For everyone else, they were watching baby snakes playing right after they hatched from their eggs. Ryder got Mayor Goodway's call about Buddy growing taller and lifted her and Chickaletta off the ground. Ryder says they're on their way and summons the pups to the PAW Patroller. As everyone was ready, Ryder told them about Buddy growing too big and Mayor Goodway and Chickaletta stuck on his leaf. He hired Marshall to use his firetruck ladder to help the mayor to climb down, and Chase to set up his net just for backup. As they were ready for the mission, Ryder, Marshall, and Chase hopped into their vehicles and drove off to save Mayor Goodway and Chickaletta.

As the PAW Patrol made it to Buddy, Chase put up his net between Marshall's firetruck and Buddy. And, Marshall put up his ladder for Mayor Goodway to climb down. But, Mayor Goodway wasn't able to move because Buddy's vines had grown around her ankles. Ryder asked Tracker to use his cables to climb up Buddy and use his pliers to cut the vine to free Mayor Goodway. Tracker climbed up the plant with his cables and freed the mayor.

Buddy opened his mouth and got Chickaletta trapped inside. Mayor Goodway fell off of Buddy's leaf and landed on Chase's net. Carlos looked into a book and discovered what kind of plant Bubby is. Buddy's a Buggum-Lovus, a type of plant that eats insects. The insects are on the other side of the swamp, the reason why Buddy shouldn't be planted on the side Ryder and Carlos were standing, and how he grew too big, is because to soil is too fertile. And if didn't eat insects soon, he'll become ill. Ryder finally came with an idea, if they could bring insects to Buddy, Buddy will open up his mouth to eat them and release Chickaletta. He called Zuma to come and see him.

As Zuma arrived, Ryder add a pup-treat on a stick and put it on Zuma's hovercraft. Zuma needs to use the bait to bring the bugs to Buddy. As he was off to get the bugs, Ryder came with another part of his idea, he called Rubble to bring his rig to help bring Buddy where he belongs. As Zuma arrived with with a big bunch of bugs, Ryder asked Chase to use his launcher to lure the bait up to Buddy. Chase activated his launcher and Ryder puts the bait inside. The bait had lure the bugs to Buddy. And as Buddy's mouth began to open to eat the bugs, Chickaletta got out and landed on Chase's net.

Now that Chickaletta was free, Rubble dug out Buddy's roots, pulled him out of the ground, and placed him on top of the PAW Patroller. Then, they drove him to the other side of the swamp. As Buddy was planted to where he belongs, Mayor Goodway thanked the PAW Patrol for saving her and Chickaletta, and replanting Buddy to his new home. And Ryder said, "Whenever you have a plant problem, just yelp for help" and gave the pups some treats. And, the episode ends with Buddy eating one more bunch of insects.
