Synopsis
Ace Sorenson is preparing to climb the mountain El Grande, a personal goal of hers, with Daring Danny X as her climbing partner. Danny intends to use some new gear called Kooky Climbers, despite Ace's skepticism at the idea. Meanwhile, at the Lookout, Ryder presents the playing pups with a new balance board toy. Danny's new gear proves highly effective for climbing, with him easily outpacing Ace's traditional equipment. However, as Danny is live-streaming to his fans using his selfie stick, he arouses the ire of a nearby nesting eagle.
Coming to Danny's assistance, Ace ends up dropping her climbing rope, leaving her and Danny stranded with the aggressive eagle. The pair quickly call Ryder, and he summons the pups into a debriefing; Marshall's usual tumble is caused by the balance board. Ryder selects Skye and Chase to help with the rescue, with Skye being tasked with distracting the eagle while Chase helps the climbers get to safety. Despite her long-standing fear of the large birds, Skye lures the eagle away from Ace and Danny, only to discover that this particular eagle is more playful than predatory at the moment.
With the eagle diverted, Chase deploys his zipline, which Ace quickly rides to safety. However, Danny employs his Kooky Climbers to continue his ascent. Ryder orders Danny to stop, warning him about the unstable rocks, but as usual, Danny doesn't listen, only to reach an unstable patch of rock that collapses under him. He falls, but manages to latch onto the side of a passing train. Skye, on Ryder's orders, moves in to rescue him, but Danny is distracted by his continuing livestream and doesn't listen to Skye. Swerving to avoid a tunnel, Skye gets her harness caught on a tree, but Chase is able to free it so she can fly around to the other side of the mountain.
Danny, still on the train, picks up an unwanted rider of his own in the form of a spider. With the train passing a body of water, Ryder calls Zuma for backup, but his effort to rescue the daredevil is complicated by Danny's efforts to avoid his small hitchhiker. He eventually succeeds in getting Danny to safety, much to Ace's relief, and the eagle flies by and drops Danny's selfie stick. Ace and Danny, all their gear recovered, resume their ascent of El Grande-now linked by Ace's rope-and successfully reach the summit.
