Synopsis
Ryder and the pups are heading out for a camping trip in the desert when Skye spots some storm clouds on the PAW Patroller's weather monitors. After diverting to the Wingnuts' Ranch so as to avoid the storm, they are surprised at their campsite by Mr. Wingnut, who is practicing his new yodeling routine. After putting on a brief performance for them, he heads off in search of a canyon where he can continue to work on it. However, his vocalizations attract a family of wolves, who scare Mr. Wingnut and prompt him to call the PAW Patrol for help.
Mr. Wingnut is able to communicate his trouble to Ryder before dropping his phone, and Ryder summons the pups aboard the PAW Patroller. Marshall's crash is caused when he becomes rolled up in his sleeping bag. Ryder then briefs the pups on the situation, and Skye notes that the canyon where Mr. Wingnut is the same area where the storm they saw earlier was heading. Chase and Zuma are tasked with tracking Mr. Wingnut and trying to communicate with him from aboard the PAW Patroller. Rubble and Marshall, meanwhile, are sent out in their pupmobiles to clear boulders from the PAW Patroller's path and discourage the wolves' pursuit of Mr. Wingnut, respectively.
As the storm looms, Marshall and Rubble locate Mr. Wingnut's phone, and Chase begins calling out to Mr. Wingnut to encourage him to yodel. Mr. Wingnut obliges, and soon discovers that his yodeling actually seems to please the wolves. Zuma has difficulty tracking the yodeling due to the echoes of the canyon, but eventually zeroes in on the rancher and his unlikely audience. Marshall then calls out to the wolves with his animal language skills, but just after the wolves depart a large rock collapses and traps Mr. Wingnut in the dead end where he had fled from the wolves.
While Marshall leads the wolves away, Rubble goes to Mr. Wingnut's aid but is unable to move the rock by himself. Worse, the storm has moved in and is threatening to flood the canyon. However, Ryder gets an idea and asks Marshall to bring the wolves to the Paw Patroller, where he has them howl into the megaphone to create a sound blast to shatter the boulder. The unorthodox attempt cracks the boulder in two, allowing Rubble to shift one half and go to Mr. Wingnut's rescue. The PAW Patroller-with pups, wolves, and humans safely aboard-then escapes the canyon and returns to the pups' campsite.
