Synopsis
The pups are busy rehearsing a country song at the Lookout, and Ryder is proud of their hard work. They are also looking forward to the impending chili cook-off, and Rubble is sure that Adventure Bay will win, exclaiming, "Mr. Porter's chili is downright chili-licious!"
Meanwhile in Adventure Bay, Mayor Goodway is on her way to Mr. Porter's restaurant to sample his chili before the competition. While she's there, Mayor Humdinger arrives, boasting about his own chili. As he boasts, Cat Rocky sneaks up from behind. Suddenly, there's a loud explosion from inside Mr. Porter’s restaurant. Mr. Porter rushes out, sneezing, and Mayor Goodway rushes to help him.
Seizing the chance, Mayor Humdinger brags even more, claiming he'll automatically win. Mayor Goodway reminded him that the deadline for chili recommendations is 6:00 PM and then, she calls the PAW Patrol for help.
Ryder is busy organizing snacks in the snack machine, and Rubble decides to help him. Ryder then receives a call, and Mayor Goodway informs him that Mr. Porter's stove has malfunctioned. Rubble laments, "Oh, no! Not the chili!" Ryder then rallies the pups to the Lookout. The pups pile into the elevator, and Marshall cracks a rimshot, eliciting laughter from the pups. At the observatory, Ryder explains the situation and assigns Rocky to repair the stove and Rubble to clean the mess. They then deploy to the emergency area.
The PAW Patrol got to work at the restaurant, but Rubble, upset about the chili spill, quickly tosses it in the trash. Rocky then comes out with bad news: the stove's heating element is damaged, and he doesn't have a replacement in his truck to fix it. Mayor Goodway panics, wondering how they're going to win with a damaged stove and a sneezing chef. Ryder suggests that Mr. Porter give them the chili recipe so they can cook it themselves. Mr. Porter provides Ryder with the recipe and says they need something to cook the chili on, and Ryder suggests cooking it outside, cowboy-style. They head to the desert to start cooking but unknown to them, Mayor Humdinger hears all about it and begins to steal Ryder's idea to cook.
The PAW Patrol and Mayor Goodway arrive at the desert and find Mayor Humdinger cooking over an open fire. He repeats Mr. Porter’s recipe with an evil laugh, making it clear he overheard their plan. Ryder assigns Rocky and Rubble to build a fire pit, Skye, Zuma, and Marshall to gather kindling, and Chase to keep an eye on Mayor Humdinger.
Chase spies and notes that the chili smells good. The PAW Patrol builds a campfire with Marshall getting the checkups and Mayor Goodway light it cheering the pups, Rubble and Rocky begin to cook and have a laugh. Cat Chase then fires a yarn ball to knock the onions and hits the tripod. Rocky managed to prevent the pot from spilling food and Chase sniffs who fired it and he sneezed. Mayor Goodway asks if something is wrong, Chase answers 'kittens', and all look at Mayor Humdinger. Mayor Humdinger then pathetically denies their accusation. Cat Skye meows and Ryder orders Chase to help her. Chase fires the net and the PAW Patrol crowds around her. Cat Skye then snickers and flies away. Chase deduces what is that all about. Unbeknownst to them, someone had secretly put a spicy pepper in the chili. Zuma tells them about the spicy pepper. Rocky uses his claw to get the pepper, but he can't see it. Marshall then uses his x-ray to scan the pot. Mayor Humdinger goes to them with a bowl of his chili. and Mayor Goodway commends him on it. Rocky retrieves the pepper, and Ryder and Rubble tasted it, which has now become too spicy. Rubble then suggests to add more ingredients, such as tomatoes, oregano, and a pup treat.
Chickaletta rings the bell, signaling that time is up. The judge comes to taste the chili, and first is Mayor Humdinger's. The judge notices something familiar. Mayor Humdinger claims it is a classic recipe, but Chickaletta pecks around and finds a can of pre-made chili. The judge then tastes the PAW Patrol's chili and proclaims that the PAW Patrol's chili is the best he ever tasted automatically. Mayor Humdinger accuses them of cheating, but Mayor Goodway points out that Mayor Humdinger used canned chili, and the citizens look at him disapprovingly. The judge then says that what Mayor Humdinger did is cheating. Mayor Humdinger walks out in defeat.
The episode ends with the PAW Patrol performing at the chili feast.
