- The pups wore cowboy hats for the third time (fourth for Marshall) and wore collar bandanas for a second time.
- When the pups cheer, Marshall emits a Season One-style long howl. This isn't done again until Rubble does it in "Pups Save a Soapbox Derby" before the pups run off to the winner. Most howls are supposed to be short.
- At the elevator, Marshall does the rimshot with a drum and his paws.
- Marshall's fire safety tips from "Pups Save an Adventure" are mentioned by him.
Errors
- After the pups are dressed up, Chase is seen geared up with his spy gear. After reaching the top of the Lookout, he is seen with his normal police gear. This is the second time this kind of error occurred after the first one taking place in "Pups Save a Blimp".
- On Netflix, this episode is incorrectly called "Pups Save a Chili Cook-Out".
- When Mayor Goodway states the deadline of the competition is 6:00pm. The skyline in the desert is shown to be cloudy afternoon.
