Synopsis
At the Lookout in Adventure Bay, the PAW Patrol are playing a game with a catapult and pup treats, which Rubble is using to develop his skills. Meanwhile, near Barkingburg, the Duke of Flappington and Jean-Claude are meeting with Claw and Sparks to enact the Duke's latest plan to take over Barkingburg. This involves stealing a shield bearing a map that leads to the Cauldron of Snores. During the discussion, Claw-who has been struggling to get Sparks to follow his orders-discovers that the dragon has a fondness for marshmallows, which Sparks is willing to follow orders to obtain.
The two are thus able to steal the shield from a train heading to Barkingburg, which the Princess and Earl of Barkingburg and Sweetie learn about when they arrive to meet the train. The Earl thus puts in a call to Ryder to alert him of the theft, and of the cauldron's ability to produce a sleep-inducing fog. Ryder thus summons the pups to the Air Patroller for a flight to Barkingburg, where the Earl apprises them of the cauldron's history. Ryder has the pups head inside to gear up, though Marshall bumps into a sleepy Rubble and they both crash into the others.
Ryder selects Skye to locate Fang Rock, a landmark on the route to the cauldron's hiding place, and Rubble to clear a trail as the entire PAW Patrol heads out on this particular mission. Skye quickly discovers the rock, and Chase is able to identify the path the villains took due to the damage caused by Sparks during their passage. They then actually catch sight of Sparks, and Ryder has Skye and Rubble take up positions outside the cave where the cauldron is hidden while he leads the other pups inside. Claw lures Sparks into the cave to carry the large cauldron, unwittingly setting off a booby trap that begins burying the cave entrance in boulders and collapsing the interior.
Sparks is able to escape through the roof, and Rubble's attempt to prevent the entrance from being blocked fails. Skye encourages him, sending him in after Ryder and the others while she follows Sparks in her helicopter. Rubble soon has his friends freed from the cave, but Claw is successful in having Sparks fill the cauldron with Mudpoodle Marsh water that is essential to creating the sleep fog. Sweetie, upon hearing of this, instinctively guesses where the villains will set up the cauldron and goes to confront them.
Far from wanting to stop the plan, Sweetie demands that they help her become queen or else be reported to the Rescue Knights. However, the Duke instead has Sparks use his fire breath to initiate the fog and his wings to begin blowing it across Barkingburg. The denizens of Barkingburg, including Sweetie, are thus put to sleep, though Ryder and the pups manage to stop before driving into the fog. The Duke then has Sparks fly him towards the castle, having also learned how to make him follow orders using marshmallows.
Skye manages to use her copter to blow the fog out of the way of the Rescue Knights, allowing them to proceed into Barkingburg. Meanwhile, the villains' trip the castle hits a snag when Sparks and Jean-Claude fight over marshmallows, leading to Sparks chasing the eagle away from the castle. Skye spots the sleeping Sweetie and alerts Ryder, who sends Rocky and Marshall up to save the precariously perched pup and put a lid on the cauldron. Meanwhile, Sparks ends up flying through the fog that's already been released, and thus ends up dozy-flying across the city.
Having spotted this development, Ryder and the pups manage to hit upon a plan of waking Sparks up by amplifying Big Benji's clock chime through Chase's megaphone to wake up everyone put to sleep by the cauldron. Skye manages to save Claw and the Duke after they tumble off Sparks, and Zuma then saves the dragon from a crash only to end up being put to sleep. Marshall also prevents Sparks from crashing, but the dragon then knocks the lid off the cauldron and sends Marshall, Rocky, and Sweetie to sleep. Skye also acts to protect Sparks from harm, but after being forced into a landing is also put to sleep by the fog.
As Chase gets into position on the clocktower, Ryder jumps into action to save Sparks, only for Chase to end up breathing in fog as well. Rubble, having retrieved an electromagnet from Rocky's truck, prepares to catapult it at Big Benji to make the clock chime but fears he won't be able to do it. However, Ryder manages to give him a pep talk before also being put to sleep, and Rubble makes the shot successfully and wakes everyone back up. In punishment for their misdeeds, Claw and the Duke are forced to place the cauldron and the shield in the Barkingburg Museum, with Sparks being too busy chasing Jean-Claude for marshmallows to help even if he wanted to.
