Synopsis
Outside of City Hall, Rubble & Crew join the many citizens of Builder Cove to witness Mayor Greatway's surprise, which is brought in by Camila and guarded by Chase. Excited, Rubble rushes over and introduces the rest of his family to Chase before Greatway reveals the surprise to be a golden statue of everyone. While the crowd gaze upon it with awe, a very dissatisfied Speed Meister steals their attention with a poorly constructed poem, allowing Mr. McTurtle to tie all of celebratory balloons to the statue. As a result, he gets tangled up in the balloons' strings and floats away with the statue, losing his hammer in the process. Using Mr. McTurtle's absence as an excuse, Speed Meister cuts his poem short and takes his leave before the crowd realize the statue is missing.
Chase takes it upon himself to solve the mystery of the missing statue before Rubble finds their first clue: Mr. McTurtle's hammer. He then gives Rubble & Crew their own detective sticker, making them his detective helper pups, and together, the group hop into their respective vehicles and depart to search for more clues. Once the group is gone, Speed Meister reappears from the bushes and begins to carve a statue of himself from a large rock.
While sniffing out for clues, the pups find a strange yellow marking, the same color as the statue, smeared on the side of a building and a smooth piece of rubber on the sidewalk, both of which Chase deduces as clues to their case. Afterwards, to solve all of their clues with science, Rubble & Crew find an empty lot in Builder Cove and, once Wheeler returns from the Bark Yard with supplies, construct a science center.
Once the science center is complete, Wheeler brings in a wind turbine to power the center with clean energy just before Camila arrives with their high-tech computers Rubble ordered. With Chase's help, the pups push the computer into the center and use it to scan and identify their clues, revealing Mr. McTurtle to be the culprit behind the missing statue.
As the wind outside begins to pick up, the pups head over to the Bark Yard and reach the Crane Tower's top floor, where they spot Mr. McTurtle and the statue zipping through the air. Thanks to Charger wishing there was a way the pups could control the wind, Mix comes up with an idea in which Wheeler rebuilds the wind turbine from the science center into a wind-making machine. As the pups follow after Mr. McTurtle, Wheeler uses it to blow him and the statue away from a tree and the bike shop.
With Mr. McTurtle nearing the ocean, on Chase's command, Wheeler directs Mr. McTurtle towards the lighthouse, where Chase, on the top floor, uses his net to catch him. Rubble then takes Charger's winch and hooks it onto the statue, which Charger retracts, pulling both down to safety.
Back at City Hall, after Speed Meister unveils his statue to the citizens of Builder Cove, who are unimpressed with his work, the pups return with the original statue. Upon seeing it, Speed Meister accidentally blurts out the truth of the statue's disappearance in front of everyone right before the balloons carrying the statue begin to pop, dropping Mr. McTurtle, who he catches, and the statue directly on top of his own.
Surprisingly happy with the new result of his crushed masterpiece, Speed Meister asks Mr. McTurtle for assistance with pushing it home, but is met with immediate refusal, leaving him to push it all on his own. After the pups return the statue to its rightful place, they are thanked by Mayor Greatway for their detective work and celebrate with a Wiggle 'N' Wag.
