Synopsis
Out in the Bark Yard, the pups excitedly sing about their campout they have planned with Park Ranger Rose, who arrives shortly afterwards with bad news. With their original campout spot on Tool Top Mountain being ruined from a storm, the group are forced to cancel their camping activities. Fortunately, Charger unintentionally comes up with a construction solution in which the crew relocate and build their own campsite at the Bark Yard instead. With that, Rubble & Crew get to work, creating a fire pit with wooden painted trees surrounding it for their campsite.
After the campsite is complete, Park Ranger Rose lists their activities for the night which include, eating Grandpa Gravel's chili, going on a pretend nature hike in the Bark Yard, and roasting marshmallows. Rubble, however, suddenly remembers his fear of the dark and worries he will not be able to enjoy the activities, but is quickly reassured by Rose of clear skies, allowing the moon and stars to shine throughout the night. The group then participate in all of the aforementioned activities Rose listed earlier, but during each and every one of them, Rubble finds himself constantly getting spooked and overwhelmed by the darkness that overtakes the area from the passing clouds occasionally covering up the moon and stars.
After Park Ranger Rose re-checks her weather app, she informs the pups that the skies will remain cloudy for the rest of the night. Worried for Rubble, the pups try to think of a construction solution, which Charger unintentionally comes up with again, where they make their own glowing moon and stars to keep the campsite well-lit. Using wood from the Saw Station, Rubble, Mix, and Charger cut out various sizes of stars while Wheeler cuts out a full moon. After Mix uses her spray blaster to coat the wooden shapes with her glow-in-the-dark paint, the pups return to the campsite, which is now decorated and illuminated with the newly crafted stars and full moon.
Amazed by the sight of their lit up campsite, Rubble thanks his family for providing him comfort, and together, the group roast marshmallows by the fire until the pups grow tired. Before they sleep, however, Rubble gathers the crew, as well as Park Ranger Rose, to celebrate with a "Wiggle and Wag", in which all of the pups except for him fall asleep at towards the end. Sharing a laugh with Park Ranger Rose, Rubble quietly finishes the song before bidding her goodnight and going to sleep with his family.
