"The Crew Builds a Giant Runway" is the second segment of the 10th episode in Season 1 of Rubble & Crew.
Summary
Motor's super special birthday present gets delayed when the pups realize Builder Cove's airport needs a bigger runway.

Synopsis
In the Bark Yard, while Motor is sleeping with Ducky in her doghouse, Rubble & Crew are quietly planning a surprise party for Motor, which will be held later at the lake. Unfortunately, while Charger is loading the picnic tables they built into Wheeler's truck, Motor wakes up and overhears their conversation regarding her party. Excited, Motor thanks the pups and asks about her gift, which Mix informs is so large that Camila is going to deliver it in her big truck later. After that, Motor takes Ducky into her vehicle and follows the crew to the lake.
As the pups are setting up for Motor's party, Rubble receives a call from Camila, who informs him that she is passing them by to pick up Motor's gift. The pups question her whereabouts until she directs them to look up and learn that she is going to deliver it via plane as it is too large to carry in her truck. However, after Mix brings up the issue of Builder Cove's runway not being large enough to accommodate Camila's plane for landing, Camila fears she will not be able to drop the gift off. Fortunately, Rubble & Crew come up with a construction solution and agree to build a bigger runway. Before taking off, Camila promises to return with Motor's gift by the end of the day.
After Wheeler returns from the Bark Yard with the supplies the pups need, Rubble has Motor smash apart the runway for removal. Once she is finished, Rubble and Charger scoop and lift the broken pieces into Wheeler's truck until the ground is clear for Mix to apply a layer of quick-drying concrete and asphalt for the larger runway.
As Mix and Motor finish applying and smoothing out the runway, Rubble calls Camila and lets her know that she is clear to land on the newly-built runway. However, due to it being dark, Camila cannot see where to land and tells the pups that she will have to turn back to return the gift, disappointing Motor. Luckily, after Charger wishes the crew could bring back the sun, Mix comes up with the idea to brighten the runway with lights. Rubble then calls Auntie Crane to bring some from the Bark Yard and requests for Camila to hold out with Motor's gift for a bit longer.
Once Auntie Crane arrives with the lights, the pups show her where to install them until they are all in place. Then, with a press of a button, Motor turns on all the lights, allowing Camila to see the runway and make a safe landing. Once her plane lands, she praises the pups for their work and unloads Motor's surprise gift, which, after being pulled out by all the pups in their vehicles, is revealed to be a big ducky.
After lighting up her gift, Motor is pleasantly surprised by Grandpa Gravel, who brought all of her friends to her party and baked her a ducky-shaped birthday cake. Rubble kicks the party off with a short rap before joining the family in a celebratory birthday "Wiggle and Wag" and together, they, as well as Motor's friends, wish Motor a happy birthday.
