"The Crew Builds an Observatory" is the first segment of the 17th episode in Season 1 of Rubble & Crew.
Summary
The pups jump into action to build an observatory to help their friend River get a cool picture of a shooting star!

Synopsis
Out in the Bark Yard, Rubble and his family are deciding on what to build for the day until a skateboarder named River passes by to take a picture. Having recently moved to Builder Cove, River introduces themself and shows several pictures of the many buildings in Builder Cove, learning that Rubble & Crew are the builders of said buildings. Afterwards, they ask the pups if they can build an observatory so they can take a picture of a shooting star that will pass during the night, in which the pups accept. Before departing, Rubble calls Camila on his pup tag and asks her to deliver the biggest telescope she can pick up to Tooltop Mountain.
With Wheeler's truck already full of supplies, the crew, along with River, head over to the base of Tooltop Mountain, where they meet Camila and the large telescope she ordered for them. Due to its large size, the pups temporarily leave the telescope and drive up the mountain's stream until they reach the top, where they begin to build a platform.
As it gets dark and grows colder and colder, Mix and Motor stay at the top of the mountain to finish building the rest of the platform while Rubble and the others head back down to retrieve the telescope. After Charger loads all of the telescope's pieces into Wheeler's truck, the pups make their way back up the mountain, only to be stopped due to the stream freezing from the cold weather. Fortunately, Rubble, before losing connection via his pup tag, is able to call Motor, who rides down the mountain, smashing the ice with her wrecking ball.
Once all the ice is smashed, the crew return to the top of the mountain just as Mix finishes welding the platform. They then secure the telescope just in time for River to use and get a clear picture of the shooting star that passes by. Afterwards, River thanks Rubble & Crew for all their hard work, joins them in a celebratory "Wiggle N' Wag", and takes a selfie with them to commemorate their new friendship.
