Synopsis
Out in the Bark Yard, the pups are helping Auntie Crane clean up a mess leftover from the wind until Grand Gravel arrives with Kibble Pops. However, just as the pups run over to get them, the hinge supporting his truck's panel comes loose, forcing the panel to shut. Fortunately, after digging through his toolbox, Grandpa Gravel finds a spare hinge and replaces the broken one, allowing the pups to get their Kibble Pops.
Grateful for all Grandpa Gravel does, the pups agree to make the day Grandpa Day, where they plan to spend time with Grandpa Gravel by singing songs, playing games, and making snacks. They start by playing his favorite game, Fetch and Stay, but their game is quickly interrupted by a call from Grocer Gabriel, who needs help clearing a bunch of tree branches blocking the entrance to his store, on the Bark Screen. Able to help with his Crane-Grabber, Charger, hesitant to leave at first due to it being Grandpa Day, sets off for Grocer Gabriel's store.
While the crowd outside the store continue to rally for the Cheesy Zesty Besty Cheddar, Charger arrives and lifts the branches. He then realizes he needs a place to store them and calls Wheeler, who is also hesitant about leaving during Grandpa Day, for help. After Wheeler arrives and the two finish clearing the mess, it is revealed that the branches have severely damaged the sidewalk and steps to the store, so the pups call Rubble, Mix, and Motor for additional help, leaving only Auntie Crane to celebrate Grandpa Day with Grandpa Gravel.
After Rubble, Mix, and Motor arrive and assess the situation, Mix realizes she doesn't have enough concrete to build the new sidewalk or steps and calls Auntie Crane to bring in more, leaving Grandpa Gravel all alone for Grandpa Day. Once Auntie Crane arrives, the crew get to work and remove the old, destroyed sidewalk and steps before replacing them with newly built ones. After Rubble tells Grocer Gabriel that the crew is almost done, Gabriel notices that the doorknob is broken. The crew, remembering that Grandpa Gravel has all sorts of doorknobs, call him over to assist with fixing it.
Soon, Grandpa Gravel arrives to replace the doorknob and the crew get to work, singing We're a Pup Family together until they finish repairing the store. Grocer Gabriel is finally able to open, allowing the growing crowd outside to enter and buy the new cheese. The pups sympathize and feel disappointed that Grandpa Day was ruined due to all of them being needed to help Grocer Gabriel, but Grandpa Gravel lifts their spirits by assuring them that he had a fantastic day, seeing how helpful they are and getting to build alongside them. As a way to say thank you, Grocer Gabriel leaves several bowls of the Cheesy Zesty Besty Cheddar for the crew and they all eat before sharing a hug with Grandpa Gravel.
